"Reduta" is a quarter of Sofia, which is located in the eastern part of town. It is part of Region Slatina. Bordered on the north with the quarter "Podouene", the south - with "Geo Milev" and on east with "Slatina".
In the early twentieth century represented a very large mountain meadows. Soon, however, started to be settled with people and was declared a district. Some time served as a military fort. Under the quarter was built a huge bunker that was used last during the World War 2.
Nowadays Reduta is growing - were built many houses and small buildings. There is a large supermarket and several smaller stores from the same chain and a community center with a rich library. Geo Milev park and Holy Trinity Church are located on the territory of the quarter.
There are two schools - technical school in automobile transport "J. A. MacGahan" and 23 SS "Frederic Joliot-Curie", two kindergartens, one of which has a pool and a study of English.Connection with the central part of Sofia is done by 4 bus lines: 9,72,313 and 413, near is the stop of tram 20 and 22. At the end of 2009 the biggest mall in Sofia will be built there.
